Terrigal is a leading seaward suburb of the Central Coast area of NSW, situated twelve kms due east of Gosford NSW. It's forms part of the City of Gosford
The actual thinking of the name "Terrigal" remains blurred but perhaps inferred by the Australian Aborigine phrase "Tarragul", signifying 'a home of smallish birds'.
The township's lengthy beach is a favorite with holidaymakers and for holiday accommodation. Of geographic signification are the Terrigal lagoons. There's 2 lagoons at Terrigal, one of which has been filled in to make room for a traffic oval. Barely to the east of the township, a localised landmark is "The Skillion". This bouldered outcrop allows for fantastic panoramas of the region. In recent yrs the Skillion has experienced restabilisation by the local council but has kept its power to attract tourists and locals to its point.
The Skillion is on a maintained region of land recognised as "The Haven". The Haven is centred through a favourite public oval which is home of the "Terrigal Trojans" - a Rugby Union club. The current club house, nicknamed "trojan HQ" was supplied by Gosford City Council and is at present the home of the Trojans. The Haven as well has a favourite boat ramp which is partnered by a dive club and a absolute choice few restaurants due to the stringent development limitations on the region.
